ST8Parks Mobile app keeps track via longitude and latitude of the most recent point the Yellow Pushpin has been placed by the user in the Project Map only. Essentially, when the user first enters the app the point they enter at is logged and updated with the most recent latitude and longitude each time the Yellow Pushpin is moved either by the user or finding another location for it via the text box at the top of the Project Map or clicking the Map link in the Project List.

The landing page for User Trending has three links a the top: Map Current Active Users!, Map Historical Users - Past 6 months! and Map Historical Users - Past Year. Below this is a panel that can be clicked/tapped on to show the # of Current Active Users, what CA County they are in and the Total Number of Current Active Users.

Clicking or tappping on any one of the three links at the top of the page will put you into a mapped page showing the user's represented by a Red marker.

On this mapped page there is a ST8Park... Picker that allows the types of Black State Park Markers to be turned off and on (the default that are on are the Natural Reserve) but also the Proposition Project Markers to be turned on and off via their corresponding checkboxes. Turning all the State Parks and projects on will clutter the map so be judicious when turning these on. They will allow the user to see where the red markers are near in proportion to the State Parks and Projects.

Note that the Red markers cannot be clicked or tapped on and do not provide any additional information, their placement IS their information. The State Parks represented by the Black State Park Markers can be clicked or tapped on and will provide a link to the park, a link to get directions to the park, a link to the State Parks website and information on where the point is located on the information window that pops up. The Proposition Project Markers can be clicked or tapped on and will show in the information window the proposition the project is funded by, the project number and title of the project. Double clicking or tapping on either type marker will put the user in the Project Map with that marker as the center point and show any Black State Park Markers or Proposition Project Markers if they exist within the Gray Circle. Double clicking or tapping on the map outside any markers will only zoom in on the map, it will not go into the Project Map.

ST8Parks Mobile app keeps track of each time, in the Project Map, that a State Park Marker or Proposition Project Marker is clicked on. This allows the ST8Parks Mobile app to keep track of the trending for each of these types of points.

The landing page for Park/Project Trending has three links a the top: Map Park/Project Views - Within Last Day!, Map Park/Project Views - Past 6 months! and Map Park/Project Views - Past Year. Below this is a panel that can be clicked on to show the # of Views within Last Day current active users, what CA County they are in and the Total Number of Current Active Users.

Clicking on any one of the three links at the top of the page will put you into a mapped page showing the State Park or project that was viewed by users as such:

  • Red Pushpin (> 500 views)
  • Yellow Pushpin (201-500 views)
  • Blue Pushpin (51-200 views)
  • White Pushpin (< 51 views)

depending on how many times a Park or Project has been clicked upon within the given period.

On this mapped page there is a ST8Park... Picker that allows the types of Black State Park Markers, the Proposition Project Markers(s), CA County, Senate and Assembly Districts and the colored markers to be turned on and off. The only thing that will be turned on are the colored markers if they exist for the time period (if no data exists for a colored marker they will be disabled in this list), the rest can be done at the user's discretion. Turning on the County, Senate and Assembly layers are mutually exclusive. Turning all the State Parks and projects, County or Senate or Assembley as well as the colored markers representing the view will clutter the map so be judicious when turning these on. They will, however, facilitate by helping the user to see where the colored markers are near in proportion to the State Parks, projects, CA Counties, Senate and Assembly Districts.

The colored markers provide an information window. If the marker represents a project, clicking or tapping on it will provide:

  • the word Project at the top
  • what category of # of times viewed inside paratheses, e.g. (< 51)
  • # of Views of that particular project
  • % of Total Views is the number of times this project was viewed (betweenn 1 and 50 times) divided by the total views of all of the projects viewed (between 1 and 50 times) added together, gives the percentage
  • Proposition
  • Project Number
  • Title of the project
If it is a State Park clicking/tapping it will provide:

  • the word Park at the top
  • what category of # of times viewed inside paratheses, e.g. (< 51)
  • then # of Views of that particular State Park
  • % of Total Views is the number of times this State Park was viewed (betweenn 1 and 50 times) divided by the total views of all of the State Parks viewed (between 1 and 50 times) added together, gives the percentage
  • link to the park
  • link to get directions to the park
  • link to the State Parks website
Double clicking or tapping the colored markers will put the user in the Project Map with that colored marker as the center point but represented by a State Park Marker if it is a State Park or a Proposition Project Marker if it is a project and show any Black State Park Markers or Proposition Project Markers if they exist within the Gray Circle.

The State Parks represented by the Black State Park Markers can be clicked or tapped on and will provide on the information window that pops up:

  • link to the park
  • information on where the point is located
  • link to get directions to the park
  • link to the State Parks website
The Proposition Project Markers can be clicked on or tapped and will show in the information window:

  • Proposition the project is funded by
  • Project Number
  • Title of the project
Double clicking or tapping on either type marker will put the user in the Project Map with that marker as the center point and show any Black State Park Markers or Proposition Project Markers if they exist within the Gray Circle. Double clicking or tapping on a County, Senate District or Assembly District will only zoom in on the map, it will not go into the Project Map.
