Project List (Menu Item)

TOC

This menu item takes the application into a list of projects which can be sorted and filtered (see Tool Box below) and also contains other navigation features. One thing to remember here is that as filtering takes place the Project List could grow or shrink. Filtering can be done by Search (default no criteria), Title by alpha (default is all titles), List within County(Assembly District, Senate District)/Circle (default is County) or limit list by projects in Propositions (for now it's only Proposition 84). As soon as a choice is made in any one of these filtering choices the list will reflect that choice along with any other choices made. Keep in mind that any choice made at the core of them are what County, Assembly or Senate District the Yellow Pushpin is in, and what area the Gray Circle is covering, espcially when making a choice to include projects between County, Assembly or Senate District or the circle. For example, the Yellow Pushpin may be in a County without any projects in it and when County is chosen from County/Circle dropdown no projects are listed, but the circle may be outside the County and thus be in another County that does have projects and thus the list will contain projects.

Also, this list works well with the Project Map. Whenever something is set in the Project Map such as zoom level or distance of the Red Pushpin from the Yellow Pushpin, and last position of the Yellow Pushpin or Proposition Project Markers checked or unchecked these settings are kept going from Project Map to Project List and back and only change when they are changed in the Project Map. Note that the County, Assembly or Senate District layer and the Black State Park Markers will all be turned on (their corresponding checkboxes will be checked) going back into the Project Map.

The top of the Project List screen has a two accordions at the top that can be opened or closed. The one labeled Stats that is closed by default contains the Textbox showing present layer and the Project Count. The second one labeled Tool Box and is opened by default contains all the features that allow the listing to be changed including Search text box with a Search and C! (Clear) buttons, Title by Alpha (dropdown), List Within (dropdown), Proposition (dropdown) and Topic (dropdown).

Further, there is interaction between the Project List and what is observed within the Gray Circle and Proposition Project Markers checked or unchecked in the ST8Park(/County or Assembly or Senate) Picker on the Project Map. What is set in the Project List (Tool Box) in Search, Title by Alpha, Proposition and Topic will filter what projects are shown in the Gray Circle in the Project Map. Note on the Project List the County/Circle choice only affect the list on the Project List page not what is in the Gray Circle on the Project Map. As an example, if in the Project List Title by Alpha was set to "A" and there were projects that started with "A" in the title and all other filters we left as default you should expect to see all projects within the Gray Circle having a Title start with the letter "A". If some of the Proposition Project Markers were unchecked then their Titles beginning with "A" would not appear in the Gray Circle and you may be wondering where they are. That is when you have to check the ST8Park(/County or Assembly or Senate) Picker to see what Proposition Project Markers are checked or unchecked. If it is unchecked you won't see them, if it is checked you will. Another example is when you choose a specific Proposition in the Project List you will only see those projects belonging to that Proposition within the Gray Circle on the Project Map even if you had other Proposition Project Markers checked in the ST8Park(/County or Assembly or Senate) Picker prior to going into the Project List from the Project Map. In fact, only the Proposition picked in the Project List and it's associated entry in the ST8Park(/County or Assembly or Senate) Picker on the Project Map will show and be checked if there projects for that Proposition within the Gray Circle. If no projects exist within the Gray Circle then no entry for the Proposition Project Markers will be observed in the ST8Park(/County or Assembly or Senate) Picker, but the entry will remain checked or unchecked depending how it was last left. The only way to see other Proposition Project Markers or all the markers in the ST8Park(/County or Assembly or Senate) Picker is to go back into the Project List and change the Proposition entry in the Project List (Tool Box). Again, the Project List page will trump what is set for Propositin Project Markers in the ST8Park(/County or Assembly or Senate) Picker and thus what is showing in the Gray Circle on the Project Map.

Project List - Back to Map

TOC

Goes back to the map just as it was left (all the settings the same such as zoom level and Gray Circle size) to get into Project List.

Project List - Textbox showing present layer (Stats)

TOC

Shows the County, Assembly District or Senate District that the Yellow Pushpin is in, depending on which map version you are in.

Project List - Project List Count (Stats)

TOC

Shows the number of project records from the filter choices set in the Tool Box. The default is all the projects (defaults for Search, Title by Alpha, Proposition and Topic) within the County, Assembly or Senate District depending on the background layer the Project Map is in.

Project List - Search (Tool Box)

TOC

Typing in a legible word or word phrase (it is not case sensitive) into the text box to the left of the Search button will be looked for in the project reference number, title and description and if a match is found it makes it into the Project List. Press the Search button to get the listing. Delete the entry and press the Search button to get rid of the search entry in the list. This choice will also filter what is inside the Gray Circle in the Project Map.

Project List - Title by Alpha dropdown (Tool Box)

TOC

This dropdown list will filter the Project List by first alpha character in title and if it is a number you are looking for then use # on the dropdown list. This choice will also filter what is inside the Gray Circle in the Project Map.

Project List - County (Assembly District or Senate District)/Circle dropdown (Tool Box)

TOC

This dropdown list will show projects within the County (Assembly Districts or Senate Districts depending on what this layer is the Project Map) or projects within the present circle on the Project Map. If the circle includes several Counties, Assembly Districts or Senate Districts the circle may produce a higher count in the Project Count than the County, Assembly District or Senate District the Yellow Pushpin is in. This choice will not filter what is inside the Gray Circle on the Project Map, it only affect the project listing in Project List. Remember that what projects (Proposition Project Markers) are seen on the Project Map are only what are in the Gray Circle and their checkboxes checked, i.e. turned on in the ST8Park(/County, Assembly, Senate) Picker.

Project List - Proposition dropdown (Tool Box)

TOC

This dropdown list will filter the Project List by which Proposition the project is in. The default is all Propositions. This choice will also limit what is inside the Gray Circle. This choice will also filter what is inside the Gray Circle in the Project Map.

Project List - Topics dropdown (Tool Box)

TOC

This dropdown list will filter the Project List by which Metric the project could contain. The default is all Metrics. This choice will also limit what is inside the Gray Circle. This choice will also filter what is inside the Gray Circle in the Project Map.

Project List - Sorting

TOC

The Project List can be sorted either by Title or Estimated Completion Date (Est Comp Date) or Total Project Amount (Total Proj Amt) separately. The dark gray triangle next to the heading indicates the Project List is being sorted by that heading. If choosing the Title to sort by and the dark gray triangle is pointing up then the Project List will sort from #/A to Z, pointing down then the Project List will sort Z to A/#. With Est Comp Date the dark gray triangle pointing up the Project List will sort from the oldest date to the newest date and pointing down the project list will sort most recent date to oldest date. Finally, with Total Proj Amtif the dark gray triangle is pointed up then the Project List is from lowest total project amounts to highest and if pointing down then the Project List is from highest total project amounts to lowest.

Project List - Paging

TOC

At the bottom of the screen will be a paging area. There are only 10 projects listed at a time so if the Project List exceeds that number then paging needs to take place. The paging will try to keep at the page you choose as close as possible. For example, if you are on page 10 and you filter the list and only have 8 pages of Project Listings then the application will put the page at 8. If on page 3 and the same scenario then the page would remain at page 3. If Back to Map is chosen and resize of the Gray Circle takes place and Project List is chosen again then the page will be kept if possible as to where it was before the going into the map.

Project List - Details (link)

TOC

Clicking or tapping this link will take the application into the Detail page for the project it is attached to. This will provide more information on the project including a description, completion date and funding of the project. To get back to the Project List click or tap the Back to Project List.

Project List - Map (link)

TOC

Clicking or tapping this link will take the application into the Project Map and put that project the map link is part of as the center point the (Yellow Pushpin will be right near it). All the settings the map had for example, zoom level, Red Pushpin distance from the Yellow Pushpin or Proposition Project Markers checked/unchecked will be kept.
